The Grand Prix chair is Arne Jacobsen's only shell chair not designed with steel legs.
The chair was created as a light, modern chair that appealed to a clientele that did not want steel in their interiors.
At the Milan Triennale, it received the exhibition's highest award, the "Grand Prix," which has since borne the chair's name.
• Made of laminated veneer with a teak veneer top layer.
• With an authenticity label on the base.
• The chair is in good condition but has signs of wear commensurate with its age.
On both front legs, there are some discontinuities at the bottom of the arch. These are invisible when the chair is upright.
