This piece of furniture is a historic armchair attributed to the Austrian architect and designer Gustav Siegel.
It is model no. 715, which was designed around 1900 for the renowned Viennese furniture factory J. & J. Kohn. This model was presented at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900 and is evidence of a successful combination of Art Nouveau and functionality.
The chair is made of bent beech wood, stained red-brown and clear lacquered. The design features the elegant lines typical of Viennese Art Nouveau: the semi-circular curved backrest frame merges seamlessly into the front legs, giving the seat a visual and structural frame.
The original upholstery of the seat and backrest, covered with a floral tapestry fabric in warm shades of beige and gold, is particularly noteworthy. The textile covering of the backrest is edged on the inside with decorative nails, giving the chair an additional handcrafted quality. The striking lower cross struts and double-curved frames under the seat not only provide stability, but also create a decorative accent. The front legs are finished off with flat brass feet, which emphasize the original value of this piece of furniture.

The construction is stable, the furniture is very well cared for overall and ready for presentation or careful use.
