Original artwork by the Italian artist Antonio Sciacca (Catania, 1957), created entirely with marker on art paper.
The work is hand-signed by the artist in the lower left corner and also includes an autographed dedication on the reverse, visible in the photographs included in the lot, which show both the front and back of the work together for complete documentation.
This is a figurative drawing of an expressionist nature, constructed using a highly dominant linear style. The female figure does not seek a naturalistic representation, but rather a formal synthesis in which volume is achieved through the network of lines themselves and not through traditional modeling of light and shadow.
The composition is organized around a frontal portrait, slightly off-center due to the presence of a group of fruits in the lower left, which act as a visual counterpoint and lend stability to the whole.
The drawing is constructed almost exclusively using:
• continuous lines;
• broken lines;
• overlapping strokes;
• Variations in linear density.
The second color (sepia-orange) separates planes, reinforces certain volumes, and creates visual depth.
The economy of means is remarkable: with only two colors and a very confident line, the artist manages to define the face, hands, hair, clothing, and the depicted fruit without resorting to painterly effects.
Formally, the work belongs to contemporary figurative art, where expressionist elements coexist with a certain symbolic component, deliberately distancing itself from academic portraiture.
The paper is in very good condition. The work maintains its original composition, and no significant damage is visible that would compromise its stability or proper appreciation.
