Stunning vintage Japanese handcrafted vase, adorned with remarkable bamboo bark/rattan (kago) weaving.
This piece embodies the wabi-sabi aesthetic and the Mingei folk art ceramic tradition. The tightly woven, custom-made on the fired piece, elegantly protects and embellishes the speckled ceramic in shades of green and gray. The interior reveals the potter's raw marks from the wheel. Ideal as a floral art vase (ikebana/chabana) or as a natural and rustic decorative object on a dining table or sideboard.
