Antique wooden Davenport writing desk, England, dating back to the second half of the 19th century.
The writing desk has a leather-lined section and is tilted and lifts up, revealing a space underneath with four small drawers, two of which, the lower ones, are fake.
The desk also has drawers on the sides. Those on the right side are usable, while those on the other side are fake. Also on the right side is a small drawer, probably intended for pen storage.
Carved scroll pilasters.
Dimensions: approx. 54 x 54 cm
Height: 77 cm
The writing desk is in good overall condition, with minor material defects due to age and normal use. Minor scratches and marks consistent with the age of the piece, considering it is a 19th-century piece.
