⚓ Antique wooden fishing buoy | Solid oak & forged iron | 19th century Rare maritime statement piece An impressive authentic maritime object from the 19th century, originally used as a wooden fishing buoy/marker buoy. This type of buoy was used in the fishing and shipping industry and was built to withstand harsh conditions. Made of solid oak and fitted with forged iron bands. Not a decorative replica, but a genuine utilitarian object with a visible and tangible history. ⸻ ⚓ Origin & character 🪵 Solid oak 🔨 Forged iron bands 🪢 Original rope attachment at the top 🌊 Maritime use (fishing/waterway marking) 🕰 Second half of the 19th century Due to their size and weight, these types of wooden buoys are rarely preserved. ⸻ 🔄 Later repurposing The object was later carefully repurposed, with the addition of a small wooden door.
