This decorative wood-burned wall plate reflects the era's fascination with pyrography at the turn of the 20th century. At its center, a profile portrait of a man, with mustache and hat, stands out against an amber background enlivened with daisies and foliate scrolls in the Art Nouveau style. Its manufacture dates to the early 20th century, circa 1900 to 1910. The decoration is crafted with a heated point, then enhanced with warm hues—deep browns and honey yellows—which give the portrait an almost photographic presence. The detailing is assured, the stylized flowers elegantly winding around the medallion. The plate's wide rim bears a beautiful golden patina, marked by time, which tells of more than a century of existence.
