One of those antique objects whose primary function has faded with time, leaving behind a simple and immediately recognizable form. This antique hygiene fountain is made of white enameled sheet metal, punctuated by the traditional cobalt blue trim. Its large handle, its hanging system, and the small nozzle placed in its lower part still bear witness to its original use. It belongs to the family of receptacles once used for personal care and hygiene. Hung high up, the reservoir would receive water or a liquid preparation which flowed by gravity through a hose connected to the lower nozzle. These objects are also known as pitchers or enema pots. Today, its function is completely different. Old enameled receptacles of this type are often repurposed as small wall fountains, flower holders, or decorative elements, thus finding a second life much lighter than their original purpose. With its white enamel, its blue line, and its almost minimalist silhouette, it possesses the charm of utilitarian objects from the first half of the 20th century that integrate surprisingly well into contemporary interiors. A few marks and small enamel chips tell of its age without diminishing its character. Height approximately 18 cm.
