Product description
This is an antique three-piece mantelpiece set from the period circa 1880-1890. The ensemble consists of a central pendulum clock and two matching candelabra, making it a classic and representative example of nineteenth-century decorative art.
The set is crafted from bronze and marble, with the black marble bases enriched with refined, gold-colored engravings. The central clock is crowned by a detailed bronze sculpture of a figure in historical attire, surrounded by attributes. The dial is signed 'Dalibon Frères au Havre' and features Roman numerals. The two candelabra each hold multiple candles and are richly decorated with classical motifs.
The set is in good condition commensurate with its age, with an authentic patina on the bronze. The original winding key for the movement is present. The left candelabra has undergone restoration work on the side but has been restored to its original state. This mantelpiece set comes into its own perfectly on a classic mantelpiece or a sideboard. It adds an element of historical grandeur to a traditional or eclectic interior.
