This antique Thai bronze Buddha hand is depicted in the Vitarka Mudra, a gesture symbolising teaching, discussion, and the transmission of Buddhist knowledge. Originally part of a larger statue, the hand features elegantly modelled, slender fingers and subtle decoration around the wrist, reflecting the refined proportions characteristic of traditional Thai Buddhist sculpture. Solid-cast in bronze, the piece measures 26.7 cm in height and 8.6 cm in width, feeling notably substantial for its dimensions. The surface has developed a deep, dark patina over time, with visible weathering and wear consistent with its age and origin in Southeast Asia. The hand is preserved as a devotional object in its own right, showing a dark weathered patina and age-related surface wear. It remains structurally intact and retains its original character. Presented as a sculptural fragment, this piece has a strong and understated presence. It is well-suited for display on a custom stand, within a cabinet, or as a meaningful addition to a collection of Buddhist and Southeast Asian art.
