This antique silver-plated candlestick exhibits an almost monumental architecture, with its stepped hexagonal base, slender shaft, and intricate relief decorations. The Miraculous Virgin appears on the main face, surrounded by rays, an emblematic motif of Marian devotion that gained immense popularity in France from the 19th century onwards. The ornamentation extends to every detail. Small roses, scrolls, radiating lines, and geometric patterns adorn the entire piece. The metal's patina has naturally settled into the recesses of the relief and now highlights every ornament, giving the candlestick a depth that new objects simply lack.
