Beautiful, authentic antique secretary desk made of solid oak in a refined Historicist style, with influences from the Neo-Renaissance and Louis XVI. Early 20th century, estimated to be between 1910-1930.
Dimensions: approx. 84 cm wide, 1 m high, 47 cm deep.
The secretary desk comes from an inheritance. Unfortunately, we do not have room for it.
Sturdy, handcrafted. The central section (interior) features stepped built-in drawers and mail compartments with original brass knobs. Ideal for the organized storage of letters, keys, or documents.
The drawers (made of softwood) feature authentic, handmade dovetail joints.
In the open position, the writing surface rests firmly on two pull-out wooden support beams at the front.
The desk is richly decorated with original, patinated brass hardware. The front and corners are finished with fine details, featuring hand-carved rosettes (floral motifs) and elegant, fluted (grooved) feet.
Complete with the original, ornately crafted keys.
The writing surface features an inlaid green felt field. There are superficial rings around the writing surface and slight pilling on the felt, but there are no tears anywhere.
All in all, the secretary desk is in good, sturdy, and fully functional condition.
