Product description
An elegant antique three-panel screen, dating from the 1920s/1930s, resting on a wooden frame and entirely covered in lightly padded damask silk in a very elegant and luminous pastel blue. The decoration, inspired by chinoiserie, features delicate motifs of trees, landscapes, and birds woven into the fabric. The light padding adds texture to the damask and a beautiful depth to the design. Each panel is topped with a shaped border and highlighted by dark upholstery tacks arranged in vertical lines, accentuating the overall architectural elegance. The panels are joined by the fabric itself, without visible metal hinges, using a traditional tapestry technique. The screen is in very good overall condition considering its age. Note: a small, discreet tear of approximately 1.5 cm on one of the front panels, as well as some minor stains. The other imperfections are located on the back panels: some wear to the fabric edges and slight markings.
