This antique carafe from the renowned Revol manufacture is an authentic piece of French heritage from the Art Nouveau period (c. 1880-1920). The design, originating from the Saint-Uze region, combines historical charm with a timeless silhouette.
The carafe is crafted from 'Terre d'Acier' (steel clay), an extremely durable and opaque ironstone earthenware. The white body is decorated with a refined, hand-applied cobalt blue leaf motif. The neck and handle are finished with a deep brown salt glaze, creating a striking contrast. The object is stamped on the underside and measures 23 cm in height and 14 cm in width.
The piece is in excellent condition, with the glaze having fully retained its original luster. No restorations or damage are visible, underscoring the careful preservation over the years.
This charming object adds character to a classic or country interior. It comes into its own beautifully on a set table, in an open buffet cabinet, or as a standalone decorative piece in a display case.
