Antique rehal with mother-of-pearl and brass, dating from the late 19th century. Antique hand-carved wooden Quran stand (rehal/rahle) from the Ottoman Empire or Syria. This masterpiece is uniquely crafted from a single piece of wood without nails or metal hinges. Beautifully decorated with a refined, hand-laid floral motif of lustrous mother-of-pearl and brass wire. Shows some signs of old woodworm but has been treated against it in the past.
