Elegant small antique pewter cup, raised on a pedestal foot and featuring a beautiful scroll handle. Its silhouette charmingly echoes the codes of classical silversmithing, in a more understated version where the natural patina of the metal provides its full depth. The rim of the cup is adorned with a delicate beaded trim, a decoration also found at the base of the foot. The hemispherical cup, generous and deep, rests on a widely flared circular base which gives it a lovely presence despite its compact size. This cup is in keeping with neoclassical-inspired tableware. Today, it can resume its original purpose or become a charming decorative piece, placed on a table, a bookshelf, or among a collection of antique pewter items. The pewter exhibits a beautiful grey patina, with the variations, small marks, and traces left by time which fully contribute to the character of the piece. Height approximately 9 cm.
