DESCRIPTION:
A beautiful glass Art Deco pendant lamp by WMF. WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) is a German metalware factory that, since 1853, has primarily produced household metal objects such as cutlery, picture frames, and more. Most of their work was done in the Art Nouveau or Art Deco style.
This lamp is no exception. It was designed by Karl Wiedmann (active between 1920 and 1950), who invented the technique used in this lamp. This technique, called Ikora glass, uses a unique layering technique in which swirling, marbled, or crackled effects are created by fusing colored powders between layers of clear glass.
The lamp hangs from rings on the original fabric cords, with the cord also concealed. The aluminum ceiling rose completes the look, with the connection concealed. In short, a beautiful item for Art Deco enthusiasts.
