Elegant antique Chest of drawers in neoclassical style, stylistically attributable to the Directoire or early Biedermeier period and presumably from the early 20th century. The rectilinear architecture, balanced proportions, and extensive absence of decorative carvings give the furniture its calm and timeless appearance. The rectangular body is equipped with three generous drawers. The lively, warm-toned wood grain is particularly beautiful on the drawer fronts. The side surfaces are designed as a classic frame construction with inserted wood panels. Four slender, downward-tapering square legs make the comparatively robust Chest of drawers appear light and elegant. The three drawers have traditional handcrafted dovetail joints and offer plenty of storage space. Round ring handles and centrally arranged key escutcheons made of brass-colored metal set subtle decorative accents and harmonize perfectly with the warm wood tone. The surface, developed over many decades, is particularly appealing. Different color tones, fine scratches, signs of wear, and the lively grain give the Chest of drawers an authentic patina and make its historical character immediately visible. Condition: Authentic antique condition with clear signs of age and use. The top plate shows numerous scratches, abrasions, stains or discolorations, and minor unevenness. Further age-appropriate traces, minor bumps, and surface changes are present on edges and wood surfaces. The drawers and fittings also show a corresponding patina. Overall, a characterful piece of furniture with a visibly grown history of use. Dimensions: L112 x W58.5 x H88 cm
