A piece full of that quiet elegance characteristic of beautiful French tables of yesteryear. This antique Ironstone compotier from the Moulin des Loups & Hamage factory, dating from the early 20th century, first captivates with the delicacy of its silhouette. Its pedestal delicately elevates the dish and gives it that special presence of old serving pieces, designed as much for presentation as for service. On the ivory-white earthenware, a delightful blue-green frieze unfolds, made of small floral bouquets connected by delicate beaded garlands. The design remains delicate, almost precious, while a colored band highlights the edge and is found again on the foot. The wide white center brings light and gives full prominence to the elegance of the decor. With its approximately 23 cm in diameter and 5.5 cm in height, it has beautiful proportions. On a table, a few seasonal fruits are enough to showcase it. On a sideboard or in a china cabinet, it becomes a beautiful decorative object on its own. Its Moulin des Loups & Hamage stamp, still visible underneath the piece, naturally certifies its origin and recalls the history of this great French earthenware production. It will pair wonderfully with white tableware, antique glasses, linen tablecloths, or other mismatched Ironstone pieces. It is a piece that can still be used, but which above all possesses that particular charm of antique objects that have passed through generations without losing their elegance. The compotier is in good antique condition, with some discreet traces of time and use visible in the photographs, consistent with its age.
