On a carefully set table, the individual sauce boat had its rightful place. This one, made of fine white porcelain imported from Czechoslovakia, captivates with the understated elegance of its octagonal shape and the gentle charm of its decoration. Small mauve roses scattered across the surface, enhanced by a delicate gold rim, create a discreetly elegant ensemble, typical of European tableware from the first half of the 20th century. It rests on its matching oval underplate, featuring the same decoration and gold trim. The marking on the base, "V.K. – Imported from Czechoslovakia – 317," attests to its origin and its import to the French market. The underplate's width is approximately 14 cm, and the sauce boat's height is approximately 7 cm. The gilding shows slight wear consistent with use and subtle small chips on the underplate, visible in the photographs. No cracks noted. Placed on a sideboard or in a display cabinet, it brings that touch of antique refinement found in beautiful homes of yesteryear.
