Antique Oak Roll-Top Cabinet – Germany, circa 1920–1935
An exceptional roll-top cabinet from the early Modernist/New Objectivity period, featuring its original wooden roll-top, key, and functional interior layout.
This cabinet dates from the first third of the 20th century and was originally used as an office or archive cabinet. The characteristic roll-top door disappears completely into the base when opened, revealing numerous shelves and ample storage space.
Particularly noteworthy are the high-quality craftsmanship, the original brass and bronzed metal hardware, the original lock and key, and the beautiful patina of the oak veneer, which has developed over decades.
With its clean lines, this piece complements both classic and modern interiors and is ideally suited as an archive cabinet, office cabinet, collector's cabinet, or a striking statement piece in the living room.
