Product description
For sale: a beautiful and characterful antique bedside table, also known as a "Somno." This piece likely dates from the late 19th century (circa 1880-1900) and is finished in a warm mahogany color.
This table is a jewel for the bedroom, but would also look great as an occasional piece in a modern or classic interior.
Key features:
• Top: Original white-veined marble (Carrara). The marble exhibits a natural patina that reflects the age of the piece.
• Details: Features beautiful hand-carved carvings (floral motifs) on the corners and elegant fluted side rails.
• Authenticity: The piece is made entirely of wood (including the back). The inside of the drawer still has its original decorative finish.
Condition and base:
The table is in beautiful antique condition. The woodwork is sturdy and well-maintained. • Note: One of the small casters on the bottom is currently missing. This can be easily and almost invisibly fixed by cutting a cork stopper to size; this will immediately make the cabinet perfectly stable again. Woodworm has been present (see holes), but this has been treated.
