Product description
Original antique French fashion print from the series “Costume Parisien”, presumably from the *Journal des Dames et des Modes* and dating from around 1825. Depicted is a lady in Parisian fashion from the early 19th century, wearing a turban and a fan. At the bottom is the original French description of the clothing depicted. The print is an old engraving with hand-colored details. A special historical document, approximately 200 years old, for an enthusiast of historical fashion, old prints, and engravings. The print is no longer framed. It is still attached to the old passe-partout. Due to its age and fragility, I will emphatically not remove it myself. Condition: damaged. The print has multiple tears and damages, including a longer damaged section along the right side and a tear/damage at the bottom near the caption. Additionally, there are moisture/age stains, foxing, and discoloration present. The passe-partout also shows clear signs of age and use. Please view the detail photos in particular; the damage has been deliberately photographed clearly. Nothing has been restored, cleaned, or touched up. The print is sold in its current condition and will remain on the existing passe-partout. Despite the damage, a charming and authentic-looking historical fashion print for the enthusiast, potentially suitable for professional conservation and reframing.
