An elegant pair of French wall lamps with a graceful balloon shape, hence the name Montgolfier. The brass frame is richly decorated and completely set with hand-cut, faceted lead crystals attached with fine metal wires.
The lamps consist of a flattened octagon at the top and an elongated teardrop shape at the bottom, which together create a subtle waterfall effect. Made around 1905–1910 in Paris. When lit, the crystals capture and refract the light in sparkling reflections. A few droplets are missing from the back, but this is completely unnoticeable. Socket: E14; can be connected to the light source with a terminal block or a plug.
