A truly magnificent antique chandelier from around 1870, originally manufactured for gas lighting and later converted to electricity.
An impressive 19th-century piece with over 150 years of history and a particularly rich appearance.
The beautifully decorated frame is crafted in brass/bronze with stunning antique gilding.
The deep and warm gold color is strongly reminiscent of traditional leaf gilding and, together with the natural patina and the richly detailed floral ornaments, forms a beautiful ensemble.
The chandelier is very lavishly adorned with cut crystal: long faceted pendants, rosettes, hangers, beads, and gracefully draped crystal chains.
An absolute eye-catcher is the large tulip- or bell-shaped stopper at the bottom, also crafted in beautiful faceted crystal. Thanks to the many cut surfaces, the light is brilliantly captured and reflected.
Originally, this chandelier was intended for gas lighting.
It was later adapted for electric use, while the historical form and appearance have been beautifully preserved.
With its impressive size of approx. 120 cm high and 80 cm in diameter, this is certainly not an everyday lamp.
