Beautiful original French fashion print from the famous 19th-century fashion magazine *Journal des Demoiselles – Modes de Paris*. The print is precisely dated: 1 September 1885 and bears the number 4536 in the lower right corner. Depicted are two elegantly dressed ladies and a girl in the Parisian fashion of 1885. A remarkable snapshot of the era with beautiful details in the dresses, hats, and accessories. The print features fine printing lines and hand-colored details in green, blue, and soft beige tones, among others. At the bottom, the original French texts are fully present, including: *Journal des Demoiselles Modes de Paris 1er Septembre 1885 Rue Vivienne 48 Nr. 4536*. The print is still in its existing frame behind glass, with a classic passe-partout. I am deliberately leaving it in this frame and will not remove the print. Condition: Beautifully preserved considering its age. Normal signs of age and some discoloration/foxing are visible. The frame also shows signs of use and age. The light band running across the print in the photo is a reflection of the glass and not damage to the print. An atmospheric original 19th-century object for lovers of antique prints, historical fashion, costume history, Paris, or a classic interior.
