An ex voto devotional painting depicting the miraculous rescue of a child from a life-threatening house fire, shown under the intercession of the Madonna with the Christ Child. Painted by hand in oil on a wooden panel, this work was created as a votive offering in gratitude for grace received.
The scene shows figures fleeing the burning building while the child is saved from the flames below, with the divine apparition appearing above. The front bears the date 1806, which refers to the religious event or vow depicted rather than the manufacture of the painting itself. Inscriptions on the reverse include 1865, likely marking a dedication or offering date, as well as later pencil notations from 1910 century, indicating continued ownership.
