* Unique antique campaign-style officer folding chair with decorative nails
Main description:
Offered is this beautiful and extremely characterful antique wooden folding chair, executed in a classic military campaign style (officer/safari chair).
This type of furniture was used around the turn of the century (ca. 1900) due to its clever, collapsible design combined with style and comfort for travel.
The chair features a sturdy, dark wooden frame with elegantly turned spindles in the backrest. Both the seat and the backrest are upholstered in thick, robust cognac-colored harness leather, which has developed a magnificent, authentic patina over the years.
The backrest is expertly finished all around with the original brass decorative nails, contributing to the stately, historic appearance of the piece of furniture. A fantastic decorative object for an industrial, eclectic, or classic interior, yet still functional as a distinctive accent chair.
Condition Report:
The chair is in beautiful, weathered antique condition with signs of wear inherent to its age and historical use. The woodwork displays a beautifully weathered character (see photos). The leather is sturdy and intact, with a beautifully aged appearance. The folding mechanism works properly. See the photo report for an accurate impression of the condition.
