A beautiful and authentic antique Dutch linen cupboard with drawers, made circa 1780–1820, in a simple transitional style towards Biedermeier.
A characterful and honest piece of furniture with a warm, deep sheen and the appearance that only true age can provide.
The cupboard is made of solid wood and features a practical and original layout:
a large top drawer, two doors, and two drawers inside, with shelves underneath. This layout is typical of Dutch linen cupboards from the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
The cupboard is complete with all original keys and functions well. The wood exhibits a few small natural cracks here and there, entirely consistent with its age and without structural problems. There are no broken corners or disturbing damage.
Three small, inactive woodworm holes were found. The cupboard has been treated in the past.
A small decorative piece on the bottom needs to be reglued (part is included). The cabinet can optionally be given a light, suitable reinforcement or restoration treatment, as is customary for cabinets of this age, but this is not required.
The interior and back panel are made of wide, solid planks, which underscores its age and authenticity. The cabinet has a beautiful sheen and is a real eye-catcher in both a classic, modern, or eclectic interior.
Originating as a family heirloom, but making way for another.
