Beautiful antique fountain, likely from France, dating from the late 19th century. This unique piece, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, depicts a dolphin or dragon. The body is crafted from hammered copper, carefully assembled from various soldered parts. The fins and tail are made of bronze, adding a beautiful contrast and detail. Originally functional, water was supplied through a hidden hole behind the tail fin, which served as a funnel. This was not merely a decorative sculpture, but a working fountain. The sculpture is 23 cm high and 45 cm long. It looks its best when resting on a stone, but can also stand upright.
