Product description
Traditional antique string puppet, manipulated by a metal cross.
It's a clown dressed in a red checkered jacket with black lapels, black pants, striped shirt and bow tie, and above all oversized yellow shoes decorated with red flowers typical of the clown style.
The round wooden head is hand-painted with an expressive face: big smile, red nose and white fur-trimmed hat.
This puppet took part in the Guignol show, and belonged to a puppeteer who has ceased her activity, so she's parting with all her puppets, and I fell in love with this little clown.
It's in good condition despite its age, and is an object for craft and curiosity enthusiasts, for collectors of old toys or for vintage decoration with a theater or circus atmosphere.
