This antique table clock, dated 1884, is a refined example of nineteenth-century clockmaking. The design is characterized by a richly decorated case with classical ornaments, including striking lion's heads on the sides, which give the piece a stately and historic character. Crafted from patinated brass and metal, the cylindrical movement rests on an elegant, ornate base. The dial features clear Roman numerals and elegant hands, protected by a glass window. On the inside of the back cover is a handwritten inscription with the year 1884, confirming the historical origin of this object. The gold and bronze-colored finish emphasizes the authentic appearance of the material. The clock is in good, authentic condition befitting its considerable age. Over the decades, the metal has developed a natural and characteristic patina. The mechanism on the back is visible, displaying the original construction, whereby the historical integrity of the object has been well preserved.
