An elegant testament to a nearly vanished art of entertaining, this table butler belongs to those accessories once kept within reach after a meal. Its lid opens via a small push-button located near the handle, allowing for discrete collection of table crumbs or ashes without having to directly handle the receptacle. Crafted from brass, it features a beautiful circular silhouette accented in the center by a simple medallion encircled by a rope twist. The long wooden handle provides a warm contrast to the golden metal and allowed the master or mistress of the house to pass it around with ease. This type of object, also known as a "silent butler," enjoyed great success in elegant interiors from the 1930s onwards.
