Antique silver-plated jewelry box from the 19th century.
This is a heavy, silver-plated box, hexagonal in shape, with beautiful relief decorations on all sides.
The lid is intricately decorated with a scene of a man and a woman in 19th-century clothing.
It is finely crafted and chiseled.
The sides and base are richly detailed.
The interior is finished in red velvet, which is still in perfect condition.
The lid hinge is still in perfect working order.
The flat surfaces show some signs of age, which is typical of an object from the 19th century.
The word "foreign" is inscribed on the bottom. Research has shown that this was done between 1893 and 1923 in England to indicate that it was an "English" product intended for export. This also indicates the production period, so late 19th/early 20th century from England.
Dimensions are 8 x 8 cm - 4 cm high, up to 4.5 cm in the center of the box.
The weight is 188 grams.
