A beautiful antique chair by Jakob and Josef Kohn, Jacob & Josef Kohn was an Austrian furniture company founded by father Jacob Kohn (1791-1866) and his son Josef Kohn (1814-1884) in Vienna in 1849. They grew into a major competitor of Gebrüder Thonet and collaborated with artists of the Wiener Werkstätte.
In this antique bentwood chair you can also clearly see the influence of the Thonet brothers. Of course with the same bentwood technique, with the beautiful curved wood. But also with the classic webbing seat and general design. You can easily move this chair with the handle in the armrest. This chair is from before 1914, before the merger with Mundus. The chair therefore has an Art Noveau design appropriate to that time. In short, a very nice antique webbing chair for the lover of this timeless design.
