Product description
This antique Art Deco potiche or lidded vase was manufactured in the 1920s by Auguste Mouzin & Cie (AMC) in Wasmuel, Belgium. The design is characterized by a pronounced geometric and stylized decoration, typical of early twentieth-century ceramic art. The vase is made of glazed ceramic with a striking crackle effect in the cream-colored base. The decorative pattern consists of vertical bands with black scroll motifs on an ochre yellow background, separated by a wavy blue line. The rims and the lid knob are finished in a contrasting brown shade. On the underside, the object is marked with the stamp 'Made in Belgium AMC' and the model number 559. The object is in good condition commensurate with its age, retaining the original glaze and characteristic appearance. The vase is complete with the matching lid. This decorative object makes a refined addition to a classic, eclectic, or Art Deco interior. It comes into its own perfectly as a standalone showpiece on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or in a display cabinet.
