Large antique bottle made of molded amber glass depicting a farm scene with a farmer and his cow. Embossed, it reads: “ABSOLUTELY PURE MILK” and at the base “THE MILK PROTECTOR”. This type of bottle was used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for milk distribution. The closure system protected the contents from dust and insects, at a time when food hygiene was becoming a major concern. The thick amber glass also protected the milk from light. A classic example of dairy history and old-fashioned milk distribution. Height: approximately 29 cm, good overall condition for its age, with signs of time and a missing closure mechanism. A very evocative decorative item for a kitchen, a glassware collection, or a vintage interior.
