This piece of furniture is an Anglo-Indian folding side table (also known as a "tray table") made of hand-carved wood, likely dating from the early 20th century (around 1900-1920).
The table consists of two parts: a folding base and a removable top that can also serve as a serving tray.
The tray is inlaid with brass details.
This Anglo-Indian folding side table is a perfect combination of functionality and refined design. Made of hardwood, presumably teak or sheesham (rosewood), the table features detailed woodcarvings that add a touch of elegance to any room. Thanks to its folding design, the table is easy to store and transport, ideal for versatile use around the home.
The table is in good condition and shows minimal signs of wear considering its age. However, it appears that the hinges were replaced in the past; these do not seem to correspond with the age of the rest of the table. It does offer a neat and sturdy basic construction.
