Expressive and original portrait of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, created by contemporary German artist Oliver Plehn in 2014.
The painting is executed in a powerful mixed media of charcoal and oil paint on canvas (60 x 80 cm). The work depicts Merkel in a moment of introspection and human vulnerability, with her characteristic facial features rendered with great emotional intensity.
