Original Ángel Pazmiño Rocking Chair with Footstool – Solid Wood & Embossed Leather – Quito, Ecuador. An exceptional, handcrafted rocking chair with matching footstool by the Ecuadorian furniture maker Ángel Isaac Pazmiño from Quito, Ecuador. The ensemble consists of a solid wood frame and robust, dark brown genuine leather. Particularly distinctive are the intricately embossed and relief-like leather surfaces on the backrest, seat, and footstool. The motifs and surrounding geometric ornaments are designed in a South American or pre-Columbian/Andean-inspired style, giving the piece a very unique character. The leather surfaces are not simply nailed to the frame but are wrapped around the solid wooden struts with wide leather loops. The sturdy armrests and the curved rockers of the chair complete the look. This gives the piece a rustic yet highly decorative appeal. The furniture still bears the original manufacturer's markings of Ángel Pazmiño, Quito/Ecuador, including the manufacturer's label and the metal plaque "Muebles de Estilo – Angel Pazmiño – Quito Ecuador." These markings are documented in the photos. The chair and footstool are in original, used condition commensurate with age, showing visible patina and signs of wear. A leather loop on the footstool is damaged/torn; there is also a small imperfection in the wood. These areas are clearly shown in the photos. The furniture has intentionally not been restored or made to look "new." An interesting piece for lovers of South American furniture, vintage and ethnic decor, collectors, or as a striking focal point in a living room, office, study, lounge, or practice.
