This antique Berber terracotta salad bowl is a handcrafted piece made using the traditional coil technique. The interior is richly decorated with protective symbols, including Khamsas (Hands of Fatima) and stylized fibulae, painted with natural mineral oxides.
Its traditional craftsmanship is confirmed by the carbonized hues visible on the reverse, evidence of artisanal firing in an open pit. The surface has been stone-burnished to achieve a satin sheen without the use of chemical varnishes.
Ideal for ethnic decor or as a serving dish for dried foods.
Very good condition with some very minor signs of age.
