This beautiful Art Deco vase in black opaline glass, abstract hand-painted decoration in white with subtle red highlights, is a creation by the artist Anatole Riecke, signed and dated 1949. As Master Glassmaker of La Coupole in Paris, he was responsible for the venue’s iconic decorative schemes in the 1930s. His work with opaline glass is expressed here through a geometric, Cubist-inspired composition, with angular forms and strong contrasts set against a deep glossy black ground. Chic and timeless, this vase will complement both antique and contemporary interiors. It is in very good vintage condition and represents an elegant and decorative piece.
