Very rare original wooden lectern / music stand from circa 1930, presumably originating from the Amsterdam Conservatory or manufactured for institutional use during that period (Bach Hall).
The design displays strong characteristics of the Amsterdam School: expressive styling, powerful geometric lines.
An exceptionally functional object with a sculptural appearance.
The stand is crafted from beech wood and plywood, featuring 4 fins with original ball feet. The solid wood adjustable stand is equipped with original height adjustment via a series of brass pins and holes. The tabletop is generously sized and excellent for use as a music stand, display object, menu stand, or decorative design piece.
Height 100-160 cm
Width 55 cm
Depth 50 cm
A special object that will appeal to collectors of the Amsterdam School, Art Deco, and Dutch design, as well as interior architects.
Good original condition with normal signs of use appropriate for age. Beautiful patina. Structurally sturdy and usable. The leaf has become somewhat warped over the past 100 years (I tried to capture it in the photos).
