Amsterdam school dressing table with central mirror. Made by Dutch furniture company 't Woonhuys in the 1920s. The dressing table is made of teak, ebony and Macassar rosewood. It has two cabinets on each side with a central mirror and shelf. Great symmetrical design, which is typical of the Amsterdam school. Probably a design by Hildo Krop, Michel de Klerk or Ad Grimmon. t' Woonhuys was founded in 1907 in Amsterdam on Vijzelstraat. In 1918 they moved to the Prinsengracht, which this dressing table dates after 1918. Expertly made piece of furniture that is still in very good condition. The wood has a deep rich color. The mirror, which is over a hundred years old, shows a subtle craquelure typical of antique mirrors.
slight signs of use on the wood such as superficial dents and scratches.
