This is an authentic post-war government desk, produced for the HICOG (High Commissioner for Germany) in the early 1950s. The design reflects the functional and robust aesthetic characteristic of institutional furniture from that period. The desk is crafted from wood with a dark walnut finish and features a sturdy, rectangular top. On the front is a wide drawer with a simple wooden handle. The underside displays original stamps and markings, including the production date of February 10, 1952, by Gebrueder Alex in Berlin, Germany. The dimensions are originally noted as 60 x 34 inches.
