DESCRIPTION: As a true classic, Fabricius tells a story of furniture history. The Conversation Chair from the 1970s combines the tradition of Scandinavian design and functional form with the charm of casual seating comfort. Precise metalwork and high-quality surfaces: the armrests and supporting structure frame the recessed seat, creating a sense of lightness and a slender form. Designed as a standalone piece or seating group for lounges, living rooms, etc.

Walter Knoll, Herrenberg, Germany (label woven into the upholstery fabric on the underside)
DESIGNER:
Preben Fabricius, born in 1931 and deceased in 1984 at the age of only 52, studied interior design in Copenhagen under Finn Juhl after completing an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker. There he met Jørgen Kastholm, with whom he designed, among other things, the famous FK Chair. Inspired by functionalism and the consistency of Scandinavian design, the two Danish interior designers dedicated themselves to optimizing form, material, and ergonomics. They were also influenced by the Bauhaus movement.
The Fabricius Chair, bearing the same name, is the brainchild of Preben Fabricius. The Conversation Chair symbolically combines the tradition of Scandinavian design and functional form with the charm of casual seating comfort.
Fabricius and Kastholm were awarded the first German "Good Design" prize in 1969.
MATERIAL:
- High-quality, fine, naturally grained cowhide nappa leather, naturally grown, unique in its pattern of pores, scars, and surface texture, drum-dyed with aniline, lightly pigmented (semi-aniline), durable yet soft and supple.
- Profile steel, brushed to a matte finish and subsequently chrome-plated.
COLOR:
Dark brown (elegant multi-tone effect, dark brown with beautiful dark reddish-brown to almost blackish-brown natural color nuances)
Note:
The photos are sometimes overexposed to show the pristine condition in detail! Reddish tones appear more reddish, and colors generally appear lighter. The shadowed areas, or those not directly illuminated by the camera light, best represent the true colors. Any glare or grayish or milky areas in the photos are due to lighting conditions (reflections). The surfaces have a satin to semi-gloss finish.

CONDITION:
The armchair is in technically and visually flawless, excellent, and virtually new condition. It is very well cared for and shows only very, very minor signs of wear. Standing before it, you'd think it was brand new!
