A sculptural Rhino-shaped bottle holder produced by the Spanish silversmith firm Almazán, dating to the 1960s-1970s. The piece features a solid wooden body with a rectangular shape and a dark finish, designed with two circular openings to hold standard wine or spirit bottles.
The wood is bookended by cast nickel silver (alpaca) elements that form the head and rear of the rhino. The metalwork shows detailed craftsmanship, highlighting the texture of the animal's skin. The structure stands on four metal legs ending in realistic hoof feet. Stamped with the maker's mark "Almazán". This functional sculpture recalls the whimsical, zoomorphic universe of François-Xavier Lalanne.
