Product description
RARE STILNOVO “ALFIERE” TABLE LAMP – DESIGNED BY DE PAS, D’URBINO & LOMAZZI (1980s)
This rare Alfiere table lamp, designed by Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi for Stilnovo around 1981, is a striking example of Italian postmodern lighting. Closely related to their earlier Fante model (1978), the Alfiere features a beautiful Murano lattimo glass base paired with an adjustable enameled metal shade, allowing light to be directed with ease while doubling as a sculptural centerpiece.
The lamp is in excellent condition and in perfect working order, showcasing the impeccable craftsmanship typical of Stilnovo’s high-quality production. The combination of opaline glass and metal results in a balanced, architectural silhouette that exemplifies the playful yet refined aesthetic of De Pas, D’Urbino & Lomazzi.
Internationally celebrated for iconic pieces such as the inflatable Blow chair and the Joe baseball glove sofa, the trio brought humor, innovation, and a radical spirit to Italian design. Their collaboration—born at Milan’s Polytechnic University—left a lasting legacy in lighting and furniture by merging avant-garde ideas with practical functionality.
The Alfiere lamp is a rare and timeless piece—perfect for collectors or anyone seeking a bold accent that bridges mid-century modern sensibility with postmodern experimentation.
