Product description
Italian Murano glass ashtray from the 1950s. Featuring air bubble inlays using the Bullicante technique. Masterfully hand-drawn. The ashtray is made of alexandrite/neodymium glass. This means that a substance has been added to the glass that absorbs yellow light. In daylight or normal lighting, the ashtray appears lilac/pink; in cool light (such as fluorescent tubes), it appears violet to light blue. The last images show the ashtray under these lighting conditions. 6 cm high 18 cm diameter
