Alessandro Casetti (Italy)
As vice president of an experimental art school in the hills of Romagna, the Italian artist is also a colorful figure of international fame. He exhibits his works in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, Taiwan, the US and Brazil, among others.
Casetti creates his works of art by using gravity. From a height he lets paint, industrial enamel paint, flow onto canvas. According to Casetti, the crackle effect (artist's secret recipe) of the dried paint and the different shapes and colors are reminiscent of the textures of dried-out earth, fossils of ancient lakes and the progress of fungi under a microscope. As if the macro and microcosm are entering into dialogue.
